Find unique gifts and treasures from small businesses on Delaware's coast.

 

Sure, all of those Black Friday deals at the big box stores are enticing, but don’t you want to give a gift that is unique and supports local businesses? Skip the crowds at the malls and check out these fun, festive shopping events at the beach.

Rehoboth Beach Stop and Go Shop Event

When: Friday, Nov. 29 and Saturday, Nov. 30, from 8-10 a.m.
Where: Downtown Rehoboth Beach
What to expect: Get up early and snag discounts in downtown Rehoboth. Enjoy complimentary light fare and beverages.

5th Annual Dewey Beach Holiday Sip and Shop

When: Nov. 29 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Nov. 30-Dec.1 from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.
Where: The Starboard Restaurant, 2009 Coastal Hwy., Dewey Beach
What to expect: The Starboard Restaurant is transformed into a shopping extravaganza all under one heated tent. Over 30 vendors will sell goods including pottery, photography, jewelry, handmade pet items, tote bags, wine holders, yoga mat holders and more. All of the vendors and artists are from Sussex County, Ocean City and the Cape May areas—note that not all of the vendors will be selling their wares all three days. The first 500 customers receive a free swag bag filled with local goodies and coupons from businesses in the community. Santa Claus is making an appearance on Friday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m, live music by Spokey Speaky starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday, and entertainment by Lower Case Blues starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday. This family-friendly event is free and hosted by Developing Artist Collaboration, a community arts nonprofit.

3rd Annual Shop Small Extravaganza

When: Nov. 29-Dec. 1 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: 74 W. Church St., Selbyville
What to expect: Head to Selbyville for a three-day shopping extravaganza. This years' participating stores include Attics of My Life, Jayne's Reliable, Pieces on Main, Roots Garden Center, Eclectic, Lavender & Lace and Magnolia Rifle. Each store will be offering sales, food and drinks, and for every $25 spent in each individual store, guests earn a ticket to win that store's pile of goodies.

Christmas on Kings

When: Saturday, Nov. 30 from 6-8 p.m.
Where720 Kings Hwy., Lewes
What to expect: Get to the Station on Kings in Lewes for a night of shopping. The shelves will be stocked with handpainted dishes, candles, beauty products and more. The best part? Customers can enjoy champagne and truffles as they shop.
